A female-announcer robot called Otonaroid speaks during a press event at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation Miraikan in Tokyo, Japan. The latest creations from Japanese android expert Hiroshi Ishiguro are the Otonaroid, a female robot called Kodomoroid, and Telenoid, a hairless mannequin head with pointed arms that serves as a cuddly companion.

New Porsche cars are parked at the grounds of the Porsche plant in Leipzig, eastern Germany. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said it had discovered that various six-cylinder 3.0-liter diesel VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Audis were also rigged with a software which skews the results of pollution tests.
